  • Laura Sweet

    DVM

    Dr. Laura Sweet joined VCA Bolingbrook Animal Hospital in 2007 and became Medical Director in 2011. She graduated from Michigan State University, College of Veterinary Medicine in 1999 and then completed an internship in Small Animal Medicine and Surgery at VCA Specialty Hospitals in the Chicago area. She has since worked as a general practioner in private practice prior to returning to VCA. Dr. Sweet treats dogs and cats exclusively. She especially enjoys seeing puppies and kittens where she can assist her clients in developing a lifelong relationship with their pet. Surgery is another interest of Dr. Sweet's. She performs spays, neuters and dentals as well as more advanced procedures such as limb amputations, enucleations and gastrointestinal procedures. Dr. Sweet is originally from a small town in Western Massachusetts and had dogs, cats and horses while growing up. She currently resides in Aurora with her husband Dan and 2 daughters. They also share their home with 2 dogs and 3 cats, all of whom were rescued. In her free time she participates in activities with her daughters, works the Sunday crossword puzzle, scrapbooks and belongs to 2 book clubs.

  • Vicky Nelson

    DVM

    Dr. Vicky Nelson joined our team in 2008. She obtained her veterinary degree from the University of Illinois in 2008. She completed her undergraduate and masters at the University of Illinois at Chicago. Dr. Nelson completed externships at the Chicago Anti-Cruelty Society, Colorado State, University of Michigan, and University of Missouri. Dr. Nelson also volunteered with the Rural American Veterinarian Service through the Humane Society of the United States, the University of Illinois Wildlife Clinic, and Veterinary Student Outreach Program. Dr. Nelson is a member of American Veterinary Medical Association and Illinois State Veterinary Medical Association. She enjoys practicing preventative care for companion animals and has a special interest in dermatology and emergency medicine. She shares her home with Tyler (mixed breed dog), Kopi (cat #1), and Maggie (cat #2), her husband, and two young children. Dr. Nelson enjoys the outdoors, athletics, and spending time with her family.

  • Juli Rowlett

    DVM

    In 2001, Dr. Juli Rowlett received her BS from University of Illinois as an animal science major and then followed up with her MS in reproductive biology in 2005. She got her DVM from Ross University in 2011. Prior to coming to VCA Bolingbrook Animal Hospital in 2012, she worked this past year as an Associate Veterinarian in a mixed animal practice in southern Illinois. Desiring to be closer to family, she moved back to northern Illinois. She has two cats named Mango and Larry that were brought back from the Caribbean and a few months ago adopted an adorable beagle mix named Penny from a shelter. She loves spending time with friends, family and riding horses.

  • Andrew Simpson

    DVM

    Dr. Simpson grew up in St. Petersburg, Florida and received his undergraduate education in biology at the University of Central Florida in 2004. After graduating from the University of Florida College of Veterinary Medicine in 2009, he completed an intensive internship at VCA Aurora and VCA Berwyn Animal Hospitals. He joined the staff of our VCA Franklin Park Animal Hospital before working at numerous VCA hospitals throughout the Chicago land area performing relief services, including VCA Bolingbrook. Dr. Simpson enjoyed our clients and team so much that he became full time with us in 2011. His main interests are dermatology and internal medicine while serving as an active member of the American Veterinary Medical Association and the American Academy of Veterinary Dermatology. Dr. Simpson enjoys spending quality time with his wife and daughter along with their adopted cat, Moses.
